Stuart Birkwood has joined the team at Le Méridien Abu Dhabi as general manager.
Birkwood brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to his new role, where he will oversee operations at the 35-year old hotel.
He joins the team from the hotels and entertainment division of the Fawaz Alhokair Group, where he was responsible for developing and leading hotel & entertainment projects in Saudi Arabia.
Previously, Birkwood was general manager at Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers. Prior to the seven years he spend in KSA, Birkwood held various executive positions in Europe within Starwood.

Commenting on his appointment, Birkwood said: “I am thrilled to join Le Méridien Abu Dhabi hotel. It’s a property that has huge history and character. I look forward to being a part of a team that has proven success behind them and we will continue together on that path going forward.
