Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai has appointed Hasan Barakat as the new director of sales.
Barakat, a Jordanian-British national, has worked in London and throughout the Middle East with placements in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. His experience spans over ten years working with Four Seasons, Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott.
This role marks Barakat’s first appointment with the Shangri-La brand, and his substantial experience within the MENA region, makes him well equipped for the challenge.
Commenting on his appointed, Barakat said: “I am confident my team and I can achieve whatever we set our minds to. I measure success by hard work and the ability to identify opportunities; I have no doubt that we will grasp these when the occasion arises.”
He will be responsible for overseeing the sales team and executing strategic plans to achieve business goals within the company.
