Chairman of Campbell Gray Hotels, Gordon Campbell Gray has been selected to be the keynote speaker at the Hotelier Middle East Great GM Debate 2015.

The event will take place at Jumeirah Beach Hotel on September 8, and is set to welcome more than 200 general managers and corporate hoteliers from across the region.

Campbell Gray Hotels currently operates Le Gray Beirut and will launch Le Gray, Amman Residences this year. A second Jordan property, Le Gray, Amman is anticipated to open in 2017.

Commenting on being selected as the keynote speaker for the Hotelier middle East Great GM Debate, Campbell said: "The hospitality industry in the GCC region is amongst the fastest growing in the world. We are not only adapting to change at a great pace but we are creating and leading it! Being invited to attend the Great GM Debate as keynote speaker is very exciting as it gives me the opportunity to share and exchange knowledge and ideas with industry leaders at a very exciting time."

In addition to Campbell Gray Hotels, Gray is also the creative force behind One Aldwych in London and Carlisle Bay in Antigua in the West Indies.

An unconventional hotelier, Gray started out in the industry as assistant food and beverage controller at London's Portman InterContinental at the age of 22.

He was then was promoted to the role of purchasing manager but his hotelier career was put on hold as he ran projects for Save the Children in Bangladesh, Morocco and Nicaragua.

Currently vice president of Save the Children, Gray is presently involved with a number of projects studying child labour in the workforce in the West Bengal region of India and Bangladesh.

He is currently involved in the development of several hotels worldwide and is an advisor to various companies, both hotel and non-hotel related.

The sixth annual Hotelier Middle East Great GM Debate will feature presentations, case studies, workshops and plenty of networking opportunities.

Some of the topics to be covered include how the Middle East is preparing for growth; the challenges of owner/operator relationships, inspiring loyalty and tackling the challenges of a Gen Y workforce.
