Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza catered a dinner at the new Suez Canal opening ceremony earlier this month.
With up to 6000 guests, including world leaders, royalty and other VIPS, it took 500 team members to make it happen, with 100 chefs from all four Four Seasons hotels and resorts in Egypt working together.
"It’s an honour to be the official caterer of the New Suez Canal opening ceremony, to be part of its success and have our name associated with this historical event," said Olivier Masson, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza.
Ten trucks, each 14 metres long bussed the required equipment to the venue, and 800kg of meat was served on the night.

The team provided settings that included 22,000 pieces of cutlery, 21,000 glasses, three tons of ice, and 960 placemats, which were specially embroidered with the event logo.
To mark the occasion in the hotel, flower arrangements were featured in the lobby, created by the Four Seasons flower team to symbolise the theme of the New Suez Canal.
In addition, guests were offered in-room surprises with the same theme, and a 90-metre-wide Egyptian flag graced the hotel's exterior.
"Our team of experts at Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza is always behind the success of our phenomenal events, and here we were especially proud to cater for Egypt's most precious gift to the world at the New Suez Canal Opening Ceremony," Masson added.
The $8 billion New Suez Canal project was completed in just one year instead of three on President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi orders, with the hope of driving an economic turnaround in the Arab world's most populous country.
The inauguration ceremony took place earlier this month.
Commenting on the project, Filippo Sona, head of hotels, MENA region at Colliers International told Hotelier: “The Suez canal expansion will boost the urban tourism development of the key cities along the canal, Ismailia, Suez and Port Said.
“The additional trading generated by the canal enlargement will increase tourism business for the hotels in Ain Sokhna.
“This business growth will be fuelled by trade and professional services working on the Suez Canal master plan and increase of the cruise business, which will also add room nights to the hotels of Cairo.”
