Kai Schukowski from Kempinski Hotel Ajman has taken home the Hotel Manager/EAM of the Year award at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2015.

Schukowski received the award following a difficult judging process which resulted in a panel of key industry figures applauding him on achieving the highest LQA score (89%) in the region of India, Middle East and Africa.

On receiving the award, Schukowski said: "This is fantastic, I am very happy, especially for our team. I couldn't have won this award without them, I am very grateful for all their support, it's a pleasure and a privilege to work with them."

The Hotel Manager/EAM of the Year award was sponsored by Meat & Livestock Australiam and presented by David Beatty, MLA's international business manager.

Other shortlisted nominees for Hotel Manager/EAM of the Year included: Ahmed Ereiba from Burj Al Arab, Daniel Kingston from Vida Hotels and Resorts, Fakhri Hindiyeh from Crowne Plaza Duqm, Marino Gherardi Hilton from Al Hamra Beach and Golf Resort and Tapan Piplani from The Oberoi Dubai.

Commenting on the importance for achieving customer satisfaction in his role, Schukowski said: "Obviously this is key in luxury hospitality, without our guests we go nowhere, it is absolutely crucial that we give them an unforgettable experience, a memorable stay and ensure they continue coming back to us."

Not only has Schukowski been the youngest hotel manager in the history of Kempinski Group, he also had to take on the responsibility of acting general manager due to the resignation of the regional president, who was the general manager for the past 17 years at Kempinski Hotel Ajman.

He was commended for his ability to gain the respect of his team. and for increasing the hotel revenue by improving the efficiency and work flow.

"I am very lucky to be with a company like Kempinski that allows that progression, and that gave me the opportunity to prove myself, I am very grateful for that, and so far we are on the right track and I really appreciate that," he added.

 The Hotelier Middle East Awards 2015 took place at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City on Wednesday, October 28, and was a James Bond themed affair.
