Charles Saliba has been appointed the new general manager at the Crowne Plaza Sohar, Oman.

Prior to his new appointment, Saliba previously held the position of resident manager at Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi, and brings as general manager, a background of over 20 years of industry expertise in the upscale and business travel segments.

His hospitality career started in 1994 as a food and beverage service employee and then three years later moved to the front office department where he held the position of front office manager.

Saliba has worked with many hotel brands during his career including Accor Group, IHG and InterContinental.

He joined Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi as director of sales and marketing in in 2010 and was promoted to resident manager in January 2013.

Commenting on his new appointment, Saliba said: “I am thrilled for this opportunity to serve as general manager at Crowne Plaza Sohar. I believe in being a mentor to my team, a trusted advisor to our customers and a relentless outperformer for our hotel Operators.”

Born in Lebanon, Saliba has multilingual skills as he speaks English, French, Spanish and Arabic fluently.

Under his leadership in Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi, the hotel won many awards including the elite “Ten Club” Performance Awards for two consecutive years, in 2013 and 2014 amongst 267 IHG hotels in AMEA.
