Next month, Media One Hotel will hold the now annual vertical race on February 20 2016.
The race is a marathon-inspired endurance challenge, and open to all pre-registered participants.
Participants will be tasked with running through the hotel’s car park, up to parking level 7, a distance of approximately one kilometre. From here, they will be required to climb more than 700 steps through the hotel to level 42.
Runners can also participate as teams of four, in a relay format. Prizes up to the value of $24,503 (AED90,000) will be given to the top three female competitors, top three male competitors and top three teams.
Ahead of the race, Media One Hotel director of Food & Beverage Felix Hartmann has called for fellow hoteliers to get involved in the event: “Our Media One team is in serious training now the festive activities have finished. We have had some great training sessions and hope some of our hotel competitors enter so we have a real challenge on our hands.
“A few brave corporate companies have started to train and hopefully they will also challenge themselves against some of their rivals!”
