The Katara Hospitality-owned Ritz-Carlton Doha is undergoing a significant renovation, according to director of sales and marketing Joseph Hagopian.

Speaking with Hotelier Middle East at Arabian Travel Market 2016, Hagopian noted the Ritz-Carlton Doha is 15 years old, and this is the first time the property has been renovated in that time.

“This is not just a soft refurbishment, we are gutting the building and changing the entire guest experience,” said Hagopian.

Renovations are taking place in three phases; the property is currently in phase one, scheduled for completion in June 2016. Phase two is planned for completion by the end of 2016, and the third phase completion date is yet to be announced.

“Ritz-Carlton is being transformed to a new voice, our branding is being adapted to a new look and feel – we’re really trying to keep to our classic culture while staying relevant with our guests,” Hagopian added.
