The Address Boulevard is all set to open this year and pre-opening general manager Pascal Dupuis told Hotelier Middle East that the approach is extremely innovative.

“We are right on schedule with the constructions, and we are soon moving into the hotel with our pre-opening team. It is going to be one of the most anticipated openings for The Address, as it will be the first new opening in six years,” he said.

On the recruitment front for the 196-room and 530-residence unit property Dupuis said the management has worked on recruiting internally.

He said: “Recruitment is a big story for us, which is going extremely well. The strategy, at the beginning was to develop and give growth opportunities to our staff members, the goal was for at least 30% of our staff to come from internal transfers. At the moment almost 50% of our workforce comes internally, so halfway on the recruitment front.”

Putting the candidates on the spot, Dupuis divulged details of how he has been conducting interviews as well. “The way we have been doing interviews is in a creative way; instead of sitting down and asking questions we ask the candidate to prepare a full presentation [of themselves].”

He added: “So, candidates can say what are their key achievements, the important positions and conducting a swot analysis on themselves.”

The creative approach spills over to the signature restaurant as well: “It is basically like a living room, the whole space is designed like an apartment. Hence you will have a living room, dining room, library, study room and even a dressing room with a walk-in wardrobe.”

He added: “So, the whole restaurant has different areas, with different moods and energies being created, which goes along with the international healthy menu as well. We will not have breakfast or lunch time – if you want to have breakfast at 4 pm, the chef will prepare it like it’s your home.”

The home-grown hotel operator Emaar Hospitality Group currently has three brands in its portfolio, with the Address hotels and resorts being its flagship luxury brand.

The group will add a new brand, Rove hotels, to its portfolio that will cater to the mid-market segment.
