Dubai-based Tajawal launches online booking service for hotels Dubai-based Tajawal launches online booking service for hotels

Following the launch of its travel booking platform earlier this year, Tajawal has now also launched an online booking service for hotels.

The Dubai-based company operates in collaboration with Saudi company Al Tayyar Travel Group. The service for booking flights launched in January 2016, and according to a company statement, Tajawal achieved an annual run-rate of US $60 million (AED 220 million) by May 2016, which exceeded the company’s sales target by 30%.

Commenting on the new addition to Tajawal services, company CEO and founder Muhammad Chbib said: “We have seen phenomenal growth in our business since we launched and this was driven solely by our flight booking product.

"Adding hotel bookings to our service portfolio was a natural step forward – one that is perfectly in line with our greater vision to become the online travel platform of choice, while maintaining the high quality standards we have brought to the Middle East and North African region.”

Tajawal’s flight booking platform features a total of nearly 15,000 destinations worldwide, while the newly launched hotel booking platform includes over 160,000 hotels. The service ranges from budget properties, through to five star hotels and resorts.

The business model for hotel booking allows guests to choose between ‘Pay Now’ or ‘Pay Later’ options, and features some free cancellation options.
