On Tuesday June 21, 48 Starwood Hotels & Resorts located across the Middle East will participate in the hotel group's annual CSR initiative “Iftar for cabs”.
The iftar initiative is now in its seventh year. Within in the UAE, a total of 26 properties are participating, including the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, St. Regis Dubai, W Dubai Al Habtoor City and Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City.
During iftar time on June 21, cab drivers driving through the main entrance of participating Starwood hotels will receive complimentary meal packs with which to break their fast.
In previous years, the total number of iftar packs handed out by Starwood properties has total over 3,000.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Middle East senior vice president & regional director Guido de Wilde commented: “We are excited to celebrate the seventh annual ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative which has become a tradition for cab drivers and our hotels. This initiative truly embodies the spirit of Ramadan and gives us the opportunity to thank cab drivers across the region for their hard work and the support they give our hotels throughout the year.”
