Qataris travelling abroad during this Eid al-Fitr holiday have chosen the UK and Switzerland as their preferred destinations, making them the two most popular locations, according to a number of travel agencies.
Good weather, safety and the availability of halal food in several hotels and restaurants are ranked as the top attractions drawing Qataris to the two countries, according to a report by Gulf Times.
Other European countries that are popular with Qataris for Eid are Germany, Italy and Austria, while Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia are growing in popularity among Qatari and Emirati travellers, the newsaper reported.

The Thai embassy in Doha reported a 21.54% growth in the number of visitors from Qatar in 2015 compared to 2014.
The embassy of Singapore saw a 4.1% increase in arrivals over the same period.
According to travel agency records, around 80% of Qatari customers prefer European countries over other places during the Eid holidays.
