Fairmont The Palm, Dubai has partnered with British golf pro, Daniel Gavins, who will take on a new role as the resort’s first official sports ambassador.

The 25-year-old turned professional in 2012, and is currently ranked in the top 200 on the European Tour. He is also the current world record holder for the TrackMan Combine Test with a score of 93.

A regular on the international tournament circuit, he will make his Dubai debut this year, having secured a rookie season card for the PGA European Tour’s 2016 Race to Dubai, which culminates in the DP World Tour Championship.

Fairmont the Palm general manager Mark Sawkins said: "By bringing Daniel on board as our first official golf ambassador, this presents a great opportunity to not only promote Dubai as a must-visit golfing destination, but also show our support as his career continues to grow from strength to strength."

As part of the partnership, golf enthusiasts staying at the resort can take part in the Golf Clinics, which will take place during Gavins’ visits to Dubai. Fans can meet him and receive golfing tips to improve their game.

Furthermore, guests would be able to watch Gavins play during ‘DP World Tour Championship Dubai’, which will take place between November 17-20, 2016 at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.

This partnership is in alignment with the 'Fairmont Golf' programme that operates under the umbrella of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
