Jumeirah Group has appointed Graham Kiy as regional vice president, Greater China and general manager of the 250-room Jumeirah Nanjing, according to an official press statement.

Kiy, a British national, moves into his new role with Jumeirah from his previous position with Jumeirah Vittaveli in Maldives, where he had been the general manager since 2012.

In his new role, Kiy will head operations across Greater China, where the Jumeirah Group currently has eight hotels in the pipeline.

Jumeirah Group CEO Stefan Leser said: “The Asia Pacific region is of strategic importance to Jumeirah, both as a focus of our development plans and a key source market for our portfolio of 22 hotels.

“We currently have 10 projects under development in the region with eight being in China: Nanjing, Qiandaohu, Wuhan, Sanya, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Haikou. In 2015 Jumeirah welcomed more than 176,000 guests from China to our hotels, and we know that our Chinese guests appreciate our warm hospitality.”

In addition to being the general manager of Jumeirah Nanjing, opening in 2017, Kiy will also continue leading the pre-opening-team for the new a 198-room Jumeirah Guangzhou hotel, scheduled to open in 2019.

Kiy has spent more than 30 years working in South East Asia and Greater China undertaking a number of general manager positions in China, Singapore and Manila.
