French national Dan Benzaquen has joined the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba as the new general manager.

Benzaquen brings 13 years of hospitality experience to the Red Sea property. He joins the Mövenpick resort in Aqaba directly from one of Mövenpick’s sister properties in Jordan, the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea, where he worked as executive assistant manager.

During his time with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Benzaquen also worked as front office manager at Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai, and hotel operations manager at Mövenpick Hotel Deira.

Commenting on his appointment, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in Jordan regional director Michael Nugent said: “Dan Benzaquen is a general manager who understands the true meaning of inspired leadership, showing true passion for delivering the warm customer service for which Mövenpick is renowned.”

Benzaquen’s previous roles have taken him to China (where he started his career as guest services manager at Sheraton Dongguan Hotel), Thailand and Vietnam. His previous roles have included stints at Six Senses Hotels Resorts & Spas and the Pullman brand by Accor Group.

Benzaquen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Hospitality Management from Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland.

Benzaquen commented: “Hospitality is my passion and having worked my way through the industry ranks from a young age, I have developed a good grasp of what sets a good hotel apart from the rest – a unique guest experience and great customer service.”
