Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has signed a new property in Nigeria, the Four Points by Sheraton Benin City.

Commenting on the signing in Nigeria, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East president Michael Wale said: “Four Points by Sheraton Benin City will further consolidate our strong Nigeria portfolio, opening up yet another emerging destination for international travel.

"With five hotels operating and another four in the pipeline, including Four Points Benin City, Nigeria is already one of our strongest markets in the region, and the signing of this hotel reinforces the growing demand for affordable lifestyle brands in rapidly developing markets.”

Owned by Eagle Hospitality and Leisure Limited, Starwood's new Benin City property will offer 176 rooms. According to Neil George, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Africa & Middle East, senior vice president acquisitions & development, Four Points now has the largest number of rooms in Starwood’s global pipeline.

Benin City is the capital of Nigeria’s Edo state, one of 36 states in the African country. According to a statement by Starwood, the new Four Points hotel will be located within five minutes’ drive from Benin City’s airport, and approximately ten minutes from the city’s government and business district.

The new Four Points by Sheraton Benin City offers F&B outlets including an all-day dining restaurant, a pool bar and the Best Brews lobby bar and lounge. Other facilities at the hotel include 400m2 of meeting space and a business centre, a 24-hour fitness centre, an outdoor pool and free WIFI throughout the property.
