The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) is rolling out new marketing strategies aimed at attracting more visitors from the UK market and increase arrivals by 20% in 2017, according to a company statement.

A delegation from ATDD will attend the World Travel Market (WTM), on November 7-9 in London and will focus on promoting the emirate.

ATDD general manager HE Faisal Al Nuaimi said: “Our top priority is to increase the number of visitors to Ajman in 2017 and since the UK market is one of our major contributors, our presence at World Travel Market is very important.

"Last year, we registered 115,000 room nights from the European market and we plan to increase that by 20%, an ambitious target but we are confident that by strengthening our existing relationships with agents and tour operators and establishing a wider network, we will achieve this.”

The delegation will seek to enhance cooperation with major tourism operators in UK to promote the tourism sector in Ajman

“Our strategic plan which is part of the Ajman Vision 2021 lays out a roadmap for Ajman Tourism to build, enhance and sustain its strategic performance for all stakeholders and partners. We will inform our partners that we have sufficient and substantial capabilities to support our strategic initiatives for the coming years,” said Al Nuaimi.

Attracting UK tourists to Ajman will be the key objective of the delegation, especially as vacations abroad have become more expensive for British holidaymakers following the Brexit referendum in June this year.
