The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes has opened in Egypt, just a few months after the Westin Somabay opened in the country.

Owned by New Cairo for Real Estate Investment Company, the resort and spa is located in the upscale Katameya Dunes residential community, anchored by a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Nick Faldo and Brian Curley.

Westin Hotels & Resorts global brand leader Brian Povinelli said: “The global demand for wellness continues to propel Westin’s growth momentum around the world, including our debut in new markets like Doha and Dubai and our expanded presence in destinations like Spain, Germany and now Egypt.”

The resort has 135 rooms and suites, and the design follows a biophilic-focus. On the F&B front the hotel has three dining options, including a pool bar, golf club bar and Paloma – an all-day Mediterranean restaurant.

Westin’s signature Vertical Garden also finds its way in the hotel, which is a restaurant that offers a variety of culinary options alongside nutrient-rich and delicious SuperFoodsRx and Fresh by the Juicery menus.

Additionally, the resort has a 3000 m2 Heavenly Spa with 10 therapy rooms and two couple suites as well as a high-tech steam room and sauna.

The hotel also offers the RunWestin programme with three- and five-mile jogging routes through the residential neighbourhood, as well as a WestinWorkout fitness studio.
