Kerzner is expanding to Hawaii with its first project in the United States, and the Atlantis Ko Alina will be located near Disney’s Aulani hotel at Ko Olina Resort.

According to the release, the 642 acre development on the beaches of O’ahu in Hawaii will join the brand’s flagship in Dubai, Atlantis, The Palm and Atlantis, Sanya Hainan in China which will open in 2017, as well as The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences in Dubai.

“China Oceanwide and Kerzner bring extensive global development experience to Ko Olina,” said Ko Olina master developer Jeffrey R. Stone.

“This project is extremely exciting for the State of Hawaii and will undoubtedly enhance the entire destination experience at Ko Olina. A project of this scope and quality will broaden Hawaii’s appeal to travellers from around the world, including the discerning millennial market,” Stone added.

The 800-key Atlantis Ko Olina will have around 524 residences, along with private gardens, pools, a beach club, as well as Aquaventure Waterpark, The Ambassador Lagoon and The Lost Chambers Aquarium.

It will reportedly be the most expensive resort ever built and may even overshadow Atlantis, the Palm in Dubai, according to the Daily Mail.
