Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Jumeirah Beach Residence has appointed of Samer Rafie as its new hotel manager, according to an official release.
Rafie, an Egyptian national, has more than two decades of hospitality experience within the GCC region, having worked in UAE, KSA, Kuwait and Bahrain. Prior to joining Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, he was with Fraser Suites Dubai for seven years, where he served as operations manager and was later promoted as executive assistant manager. He was also affiliated with various hotels in the emirate including City Seasons Dubai, Chelsea Tower Hotel Apartment, and Jood Palace Hotel Dubai.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I am delighted to join Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham JBR. I look forward to working with all the department heads and the associates in providing top notch service and high-quality accommodation for our guests. It is an exciting time for Dubai’s hospitality and tourism industry and we are optimistic for the year ahead, with the wave of developments and events that are happening in the city and the UAE.”
Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham JBR’s current general manager, Samir Arora, will take on a new role as general manager of R Hotels’ new 254-key hotel and resort in Palm Jumeirah. R Hotels had previously announced that Samir Arora was promoted to cluster general manager of R Hotels at the start of 2016, moving up from his previous role as GM of the Ramada Downtown Dubai.
