EGCL wins five-year Dubai South catering contract

Emdad Gulf Catering (EGCL), a subsidiary of GCC Services, has won a five-year catering contract with Dubai South, expected to begin in July, 2017.

EGCL will feed the 15,000 residents (Dubai South’s staff) of Sakany at Dubai South, the 145kl² masterplanned city built around Al Maktoum International Airport.

Once complete in 2020, there will be a 55,000ft² central kitchen and six dining halls, with a total seating capacity of 7,500. EGCL will provide all the necessary equipment, and manage the preparation, cooking and serving of three daily meals.

Samir Sammour, EGCL CEO, said: “We will efficiently serve the residents of Sakany authentic food that would remind them of their food at home, whilst implementing a high standard of food safety.”
