Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach has been awarded the Green Globe Certification (GGC) for the fifth year in a row, as a result of its CSR and energy saving initiatives.

The hotel’s rating has increased from last year to Gold level certification and the property was recognised for its initiatives performed throughout the year, which include the participation in several CSR activities and donations to charities.

The property also reduced carbon emissions by 22.7%, saved electricity by 5.41% and conserved water by 4.82% compared to last year.

Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach general manager Philip Jones said in a statement: "We have witnessed significant savings in terms of electricity and water consumption, and are all extremely proud of this progress. We are delighted to receive this recognition and will continue to work on implementing new initiatives in the weeks and months to come."

The Green Globe standard is a structured assessment of the sustainability performance of travel and tourism businesses and their supply chain partners.

The Green Globe Certification standard provides hotel and resort organisations with a framework to conduct a comprehensive assessment of their environmental sustainability performance, through which they can monitor improvements and achieve certification.
