The Kimpton Hotel Paris. The Kimpton Hotel Paris.

IHG COO IMEA Pascal Gauvin has exclusively revealed to Hotelier Middle East that the operator is in talks to bring the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand to the Middle East.

At Arabian Travel Market 2017, Gauvin said: "There is demand for luxury lifestyle, so we are bringing Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants [here]."

In early 2015, IHG completed the acquisition of boutique hotel operator Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, in a deal worth US $430 million. In its first international move, the brand signed Amsterdam (due to open this year) as well as Paris, set to open in 2020.

Gauvin continued: "We developed what the brand should look like outside the US, and this year we are starting expansion. So we are talking to partners already to bring the brand to Dubai and other places in the Middle East."

IHG is set for a stellar year ahead in 2017 and beyond, with a number of openings on the cards - which include new brands as well.
