Marriott International and Al Eqbal Real Estate Development signed The Ritz-Carlton, Amman, marking the debut of The Ritz-Carlton brand in Jordan.

The Ritz-Carlton, Amman marks the brand’s 20th property in the Middle East and Africa and is scheduled to open by 2020.

The property comprises 233 guest rooms and suites and will feature two speciality food and beverage outlets, including a rooftop restaurant.

The hotel will also offer a fitness centre, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a signature spa and modern meeting facilities including a 1,000m2 ballroom. When completed, the hotel will also be adjacent to a residential tower of 90 Ritz-Carlton branded residences to be offered for sale by Al Eqbal Real Estate Development.

Located in the heart of the city, the concept designs for the project have been developed by WATG, which has worked on other properties for the brand across the world, including The Ritz-Carlton, Bali, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore and The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya. Dar Al-Handasah has been appointed as the lead architect and engineer of record for the project.
