IHG hotels on Yas Island, the Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites have appointed Pascal Eggerstedt as their new general manager. Eggerstedt will overlook the operations at both the 428-key Crowne Plaza and 164-key Staybridge Suites properties.
Eggerstedt joins the Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites Abu Yas Island from the InterContinental Doha The City where he held the role of general manager since 2014, bringing with him 20 years of experience in the industry and 9 years in the MEA region.
Pascal started his career with IHG in 1997 in Thailand before moving into corporate roles in Hong Kong and Singapore. Subsequently, he has held hotel operations roles in Indonesia before joining the IHG Global Headquarters in London in 2003. Pascal joined the team in MEA in 2007 and was part of the opening team of the flagship InterContinental and Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City followed by an assignment with the iconic InterContinental Phoenicia and Le Vendome Beirut in Lebanon. After that he held general manager roles in the Sultanate of Oman and Kingdom of Bahrain and recently Qatar.
“I am very excited to return to the UAE and taking up the role as general manager for IHG’s hotels on Yas Island. Abu Dhabi has rolled out world class projects in line with their 2030 vision that are attracting visitors from all around the world,” said Eggerstedt.
