Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) recorded a 27% increase in the number of guest nights for the German market in 2017.

ATDD, which just concluded its participation at the ITB Berlin 2018, one of the world’s largest travel and tourism trade show, participated in a series of meetings with leading industry figures as part of its strategic objectives to highlight and promote the Emirate of Ajman as a unique tourist and investment destination.

ATDD director general, Ali Abdulla Al Ahmed said: “Exhibitions such as ITB Berlin continue to present strong opportunities for us to promote Ajman amongst industry partners from Germany and around the world. Germany represents a key target market for Ajman and we were pleased to welcome more than 9,586 German visitors to Ajman last year. Our figures show a 27% increase with regard to the number of guest nights, up 63,365 in 2017 compared to 49,885 in 2016, for this particular market segment as well an increase in length of stay, up 6.6 nights from 4.6 nights. This year’s event has been particularly successful and is indicative of the growing popularity of Ajman among both visitors and investors alike.”

The UAE emirate’s total revenue from the tourism and hospitality sector amounted to AED 458 million (US $ 124 million) in 2017, an 11.7% growth compared to the AED 411 million ($ 112 million) registered in 2016

ATDD’s participation in ITB Berlin 2018 is in line with its strategic objectives of increasing tourist traffic ahead of Ajman Vision 2021.
