DoubleTree by Hilton has appointed Roger Maune as the brand’s first-ever CCO or chief cookie officer. The appointment was revealed on August 4 which also happened to be National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.

Maune has been a part of Hilton’s culinary team for almost 30 years in various Hilton properties in the US. He said in a Hilton Newsroom Q&A that landing the gig is a “dream job”.

He said: “Well, for starters it’s a dream job and sounds like something I would have made up as a kid. One thing I am excited about most immediately is our new Cook(ie) Book, Start with Cookies, which features recipes from DoubleTree Team Members around the world. Every recipe starts with a DoubleTree Cookie and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

The Hilton brand famous for its cookies, hand out about 75,000 cookies each day, which amounts to more than 27 million each year. To date, DoubleTree has given out more than 420 million cookies.
