Salalah Rotana Resort has appointed Andre Viegas as the new director of learning and development.
Viegas, who started his career at Art Rotana Bahrain has climbed the ranks in learning and development through various positions at Al Manshar Rotana Kuwait, Majestic Arjaan by Rotana as well as a short stint in Downtown Rotana Bahrain.
Commenting on his appointment, Salalah Rotana Resort general manager Hossam Kamal said: “We see Learning and Development as a crucial department in hotel operations, as it directly impacts colleague knowledge and overall performance.”
Viegas holds a Bachelor’s degree in tourism management from IPBeja — ESTIG (Portugal) and Universidade Federal Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil.
The Portuguese national will oversee the resort’s Learning and Development department by conducting trainings as well as analysing development needs and implementing new creative best practices to enhance colleagues’ engagement, a statement said.
