As part of the corporate social responsibility and in appreciation for senior citizens and their contributions to society, The Meydan Hotel recently hosted a group of senior citizens from Thukher Social Club to celebrate the ‘International Day of Older Persons’ that took place earlier this month.

On the day of the celebration, the guests were welcomed in person by Meydan Hotels & Hospitality cluster manager Reuben Mifsud and later were treated to a lunch at ‘Farriers’ restaurant with an Emirati buffet prepared by Meydan culinary team.

Commenting on the celebration, Mifsud said: “We are very happy to welcome ‘Thukher Social Club’ guests to The Meydan Hotel and to share with them these memorable moments celebrating the ‘International Day of Older Persons’. We are looking forward to welcoming them again for future events at The Meydan Hotel and its sister hotel Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa.”

Opened by HH. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed Al Maktoum in October 2014, Thukhr Social Club‘s aim is to promote the integration of senior citizens into public life, to make use of their expertise and to ensure that they are spending their leisure time optimally through a range of activities, events and daily programmes that meet their needs covering a range of interests including cultural, social and recreational, the statement said.
