The Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas has held a tree planting ceremony earlier this week in honour of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE who passed away in 2004.

As part of the Department of Culture and Tourism’s (DCT) celebrations for the Year of Zayed initiative, the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas team and a media delegation from Abu Dhabi participated in planting a tree complete with a plaque at the beach resort’s central lawn.

The event recognized the thought, approach and vision of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, with the tree being a physical embodiment that highlights the environmental aspect in the life of the late founding father.

Janet Abrahams, director of sales and marketing, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas, said “We are delighted to collaborate with the DCT to honour the visionary Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah rest his soul, through this event. We are proud to leave a green fingerprint on Abu Dhabi’s journey to a cleaner, environmental-friendlier tomorrow.”

Abrahams also said that the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas is focused on efforts to raise environmental awareness in order to protect and preserve the natural beauty of Saadiyat Island.
