“We will continue to offer creative promotions throughout the year either global promotions or as regional offers,” Strachan said.

“PR and marketing are essential, on-going components of our business; they are not reactive measures to an economic situation. Effective PR and marketing plans look well into the future and are designed against the long term success of the hotel and the short-term tactical nature of the business.”

The global rate break is available for booking until January 22 for weekend stays (Thursday – Sunday) that occur between January 22 and March 21.

Resorts in Egypt (Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Taba) and Jordan (Jordan Valley and Petra) have extended the offer for the full week.

Guests will have the flexibility of choosing from more than 2500 participating Marriott hotels around the world among the company’s portfolio of brands:

• Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
• JW Marriott
• Renaissance Hotels
• Courtyard by Marriott
• Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott
• SpringHill Suites by Marriott
• Residence Inn by Marriott
• TownePlace Inn by Marriott
