The body of a missing US-mother was found stuffed in the bed frame of hotel room in Memphis, nearly two months after she was reported missing.

Sony Milbrook had been staying at the Budget Lodge hotels with her five children and boyfriend LaKeith Moody, but went missing on January 27.

Milbrook’s sister, Linda James, reportedly attempted on multiple occasions to gain access to the hotel room where Milbrook had been staying, but was refused by hotel staff.

A police officer visited the hotel, but was told the room had been cleaned on several occasions and the family had been to remove personal belonging.

However, on Monday, hotel staff called detectives after a foul odour started to register in the room, which led to the discovery of Milbrook’s body.

Police said Millbrook's body had been stuffed in the metal box frame, which sits on the floor. The box springs and mattress also set inside the metal frame.

The family and police are now questioning how the body remained undiscovered despite numerous cleanings and other guests using the room.

According to reports in the US, police say Moody is only a person of interest, but he is being held in Tennessee on a separate federal gun charge.
