Kuwait has denied a newspaper report published on Sunday that the country has banned Iranians from being issued visas to enter the country, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The Kuwait Ministry of Interior told KUNA that a newspaper report claiming verbal or written orders to ban the issuance of entry or visit visas to Iranians was "unfounded".

The statement added that the Nationality directorate "has not issued any verbal or written instructions in this regard".

The statement concluded by saying the ministry facilitated “the entry of various nationalities in order to transform Kuwait into a financial centre”.
