Strauss-Kahn. Strauss-Kahn.

The hotel maid who claims she was assaulted by Dominique Strauss Kahn has filed a civil lawsuit against the ex-IMF boss.

Nafissatou Diallo, who was working at the Sofitel New York at the time of the alleged attack, will seek damages for "sexual assault, battery, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress".

The civil suit was filed on Monday in the Bronx, where 32 year-old Diallo lives.

Diallo allegedly filed the suit as a result of the breakdown of the criminal case against Strauss-Kahn, though prosecutors are still deciding whether to pursue criminal charges or drop the case.

Strauss-Kahn's lawyers have called on Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. to dismiss the case, while advocates for women and immigrants have urged him to press forward.
