Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Saud Abdulaziz Alalloush Real Estate to open its first hotel in the city of Unaizah in Saudi Arabia, under its Doubletree by Hilton brand.

The 125-key hotel is set to open in mid-2016 and will be located in the south of the city, with access to its main districts and Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Regional Airport. Construction work has already begun on the property.

Double Tree by Hilton Unaizah will have 112 deluxe rooms and suites in the main hotel building, which will be surrounded by a selection of two and three-bedroom villas.

Facilities will include a 400-capacity multi-purpose function room, an all-day dining facility and a lobby lounge. Recreation facilities will include an on-site club house with three swimming pools and fitness centre, as well as a dedicated children’s area.

“Once again, Doubletree by Hilton takes an important step into new territory with a premium property aimed at meeting the growing demand for quality accommodation in the growing city of Unaizah,” said Doubletree by Hilton global head John Greenleaf.

“The region is famous for its festivals, carnivals and warm hospitality and will be the perfect location for our latest Doubletree hotel, a brand dedicated to creating a rewarding experience for every guest.”

The signing of the new property comes soon after Hilton Worldwide opened a Doubletree property in Jumeirah Beach Residences in Dubai, its second for the brand in the emirate.

Hilton Worldwide Middle East & Africa president Rudi Jagersbacher said: “Saudi Arabia continues to be a powerhouse of activity for Hilton Worldwide and today’s signing will add another remarkable city to our growing national portfolio.

“Unaizah is experiencing impressive growth, particularly in the leisure sector, which is fuelling greater demand for quality hospitality and pleased we are expanding our presence in a city which offers so much potential.”
