Starwood has announced it will grow its portfolio in the Middle East to 100 hotels in the Middle East by 2020.

The announcement was made at the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC) in Dubai.

This follows five new deal signings that will add more than 1,200 rooms in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Starwood will also open five hotels in 2016 across the three countries.

Starwood’s newest hotel signings in the region will include: A Luxury Collection Hotel and Le Méridien in Lusail, Qatar – which will add 650 rooms and are set to open by the end of 2018.

Saudi Arabia will have a Four Points by Sheraton Jeddah Tahlia, featuring 180 rooms and scheduled to open in 2020. Another Four Points by Sheraton in Unaizah, will mark its entry into Unaizah region of Saudi Arabia with 130 rooms including chalets and villas, health and recreation facilities with multiple swimming pools, a spa and nearly 9,000 ft2 of meeting space.
