Following on from an official announcement at the end of April about the closure of Dubai’s Rivington Grill in Souk Al Bahar, the restaurant has announced a month of special offers.

Eight years on from its opening, "The Rivi", which serves British cuisine, will close on June 5, 2016, when the site's lease comes to an end.

To kick off the farewell, the month of May will welcome ex colleagues and key contributors to the Rivington's success for cameo shifts, and the outlet will be offering Rivi classics - detailed on the specials blackboard - with throwback favourite dishes being announced daily throughout the month.

Daily lunch specials will be available from Sunday to Thursday from 12pm to 5pm, priced at US$27 (AED 100) for two courses and $33 (AED 120) for three courses.

Three dishes for US$68 (AED250) will be served for diners who book 'the last supper' on June 4, beginning at 6pm.

In addition, between May 29 and June 4 (until stocks last), there will be a 50% discount offered on wine and beverages and diners within this period will receive a voucher for 30% off at fellow British venue, The Ivy Dubai (excluding brunch and special offers/promotions).

The Rivington is also giving away dinner for two on the closing night on the terrace that overlooks The Dubai Fountain. To enter, people are invited to post a picture of their favourite moments at the Rivington Grill over the years. using the hashtag #RememberRivi and tagging @RivingtonGrill.

Jumeirah Restaurant Group Dubai managing director Russell Scott commented: “We are proud of what we have achieved at this hugely popular restaurant over the past eight years.

"I would like to personally thank all of our loyal customers and I would urge them, as well as the people who have not yet tried us, to get along as soon as they can to try those favourites or experience the great roast. The Rivi team will look forward to looking after you.”

Rivington Grill's other Dubai outlet, located in Souk Madinat, closed last year, on Friday, 17 April, 2015.
