A total of 598,000 people visiting Dubai from neighbouring Oman from January to June makes the Sultanate the fourth largest source market for visitors to the emirate.

Oman is the fourth largest source market for visitors to Dubai, recording a 23% rise in arrivals from January to June over the same period last year, when the figure was 486,000, which makes the Sultanate the source country with the highest growth, according to local media sources.

Overall Dubai welcomed 7.27 million visitors till June as against 7.25 million recorded in 2015 for the same period, according to Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

The GCC is the largest source market providing 24% of all visitors, closely followed by Western Europe with 22%.

India continues to be the largest source market with 865,000 visitors, followed by Saudi Arabia with 755,000 visitors, and the UK at 604,000.

Oman occupies fourth place, while the US, with 298,000 visitors, takes fifth place.
