Palazzo Versace Dubai guest relations executive Mabi Rajbhandari won the UAE’s Receptionist of the Year title at a ceremony held at Sheraton Dubai Creek.

The first runner up was Krystel Nurmist from Park Hyatt Dubai, while the second runner up was Natalia Gecziova from Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.

The event was organised by the local chapter of the Amicale Internationale des Sous Directeurs et Chefs de Réception des Grand Hôtels (AICR).

Rajbhandari will go on to represent UAE at the David Campbell competition, which seeks to find the best receptionist in the world. The global encounter will be held in Zurich, Switzerland, from January 31 to February 4, 2018.

Joined the pre-opening team of Palazzo Versace Dubai in October 2015, Rajbhandari enthralled the jury with his charisma and his decision-making skills, as well as his operational crisis management abilities.

“We congratulate Rajbhandari for this outstanding achievement. We are so proud to have amongst us such a talented person who will represent UAE and Palazzo Versace Dubai at the global David Campbell competition.

“He’s a veritable ambassador of our values and we are delighted that his achievement defines the level of hospitality of Palazzo Versace Dubai,” said Raza Jafar, CEO of Enshaa and chairman of Palazzo Versace Dubai.

The AICR was founded on the Cote d'Azur in France in 1964, and over the past 40 years has developed into an international fellowship with sections in 20 countries. The UAE section of the AICR was founded in Dubai in 2005, and last year, Abu Dhabi became part of the organisation.
