What area of your hotel are you most proud of?

Our procurement department is constantly on the lookout for supplies for all of the 942 rooms that spans across the Millennium and Copthorne wings of the hotel. Not to forget the six food and beverage outlets. I am particularly satisfied of being able to save costs for the property on two fronts: procuring food items while maintaining quality, and outsourcing the landscape work to a qualified maintenance supplier. With active effort from our department heads these results allow us to reflect our passion for providing quality customer service, while uplifting community values and promoting team work.

Tell us about one of your most successful deals?

One of the most successful deals in 2015 was purchasing the chillers, which saved us 22% against the budget; and sourcing glassware which resulted in 50% savings of the budget.

What does a supplier have to do to impress you?

We look for honesty amongst suppliers. Suppliers will also need to back their promises by actions and provide continuous service and support. A supplier that helps us procure green products and has a portfolio of supplies that aligns with the hotel’s CSR, community and green guidelines, without compromising on cost or quality, will get special consideration from us.
