Economy brand of Time Hotels Group to expand into Jordan and Egypt.

UAE headquartered TIME Hotels has highlighted the strength and development of its mid-market brand, TIME Express, in an interview with Hotelier Middle East.

“We originally signed our first property in Jeddah, and I’m pleased to say we have more in Saudi Arabia coming, in addition to more in the pipeline throughout region,” said TIME Hotels CEO Mohamed Awadalla.

“In 2013 we started to think of mid-market due to the growing need and demand in the region, as a result we came up with our brand called Express,” added Awadalla.

“In launching our budget brand we kept the TIME name for brand identity and awareness, and added ‘Express’ to clearly signal we are a mid-range brand,” he added.

Additional locations that TIME Express Hotels plans to launch in include Jordan and Egypt all of which are experiencing a growth in mid-market demand, according to Awadalla.

“The government incentive to offer tax relief for building mid-market accommodation during certain time frames was a huge success; I think it’s a great idea as it will build a destination, but also encourage competition too, which will bring the best quality and service in the economy sector,” said Awadalla.
