What is your new product for this year?

This year we have taken over support of the Frima VarioCooking Center. Frima is one of Rational Group’s sister companies and it was, hence, a logical step for us to make this move in a bid to offer maximum customer benefit. To ensure the seamlessness in customer satisfaction we are deploying our existing team of sales managers, customer service and technical support staff that are based in Dubai. These teams will look after the entire Middle East region. Rational currently has 12 employees permanently based in Dubai.

Can you share more about this product?

The VarioCooking Center allows much more flexibility and complements Rational’s SelfCooking Center to offer the complete solution to those people working in commercial kitchens as you are able to go from 0-200°C in under 2.5 minutes for boiling, frying, searing, braising and deep frying. It is also capable of automatically loading and unloading. It comes in many sizes to suit all operations from 2x14 litres up to 150 litres in a single appliance. You can reduce space required in your kitchen and save up to 40% of electricity and 70% of water compared to conventional appliances such as tilting pans, kettles and brat pans.

When was your company established, and how long has it been in the Middle East?

In 1976 Rational invented the first combi-steamer which fundamentally changed the way large-scale and professional kitchens operate. Today the company is the worldwide market and technology leader in thermal preparation of food for commercial catering and haute cuisine, with a 54 % world market share. To put this in perspective more than 600,000 Rational combi-steamers are currently in use all around the world, this means practically every second unit installed is made by Rational.
